WORLD HORROR CONVENTION 2007 GROSS OUT CONTEST

It is with deep regret that we must announce the cancellation of this year's annual WHC Gross Out Contest. Sadly, many of the contestants will not be able to compete since they cannot attend the convention due to a variety of personal circumstances. With that in mind, we no longer have enough participants to make the contest viable this year. However, the WHC staff has a great slate of programming and I'm sure you'll enjoy the alternative events that will now occupy the Gross Out's previous slot.

Again, my deepest apologies, and thanks to all who wanted to participate.

For more than a decade, the ANNUAL WORLD HORROR CONVENTION GROSS OUT CONTEST has provided the foulest, sickest, funniest late-night entertainment of the convention.

Founded by Edward Lee and John Pelan, this no-holds barred, anything goes competition is always a crowd favourite. Previous participants have included Simon Clark, John Skipp, Richard Laymon, Charlee Jacob, Mark McLaughlin, Rain Graves, actor Bill Mosely, Cullen Bunn, Carlton Mellick, and dozens of others.

The 2007 event will, as usual, be held on the Saturday night of the convention, following the presentation of the HWA Bram Stoker Awards, and will once again be hosted by BRIAN KEENE and RAIN GRAVES.

The winning contestant will be awarded $250 US in cash. Prizes will also be given to the runners-up. As always, a celebrity panel of judges (to be announced) will preside over the contest.

Contestants will be judged on the following three categories: Presentation, Grossness, and Crowd Reaction. Participants are reminded that their performances cannot be longer than five minutes.
