TANITH LEE'S GRAND MASTER AWARD

HWA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Brian Lumley, World Horror Convention Grand Master (2009) Tanith Lee and World Horror Convention Grand Master (2010) James Herbert

There was some confusion on the night about the presentation of Tanith Lee's Grand Master Award. As previously noted on the website and in the printed PRs, Tanith Lee was the recipient of the World Horror Convention's Grand Master Award in 2009. That year the convention was held in Winnipeg, Canada. As Tanith Lee was unable to attend that event, we thought it would be appropriate to re-present her with the award in Brighton, where she was one of our esteemed Guests of Honour.

James Herbert was the recipient of the 2010 Grand Master Award, while the inaugural WHC Life Achievement Award went to Basil Copper.

REFUNDS

It is stated World Horror Convention policy that refunds are given at the discretion of the organisers. We worked extremely hard to ensure that we could facilitate membership transfers up to March 9. We made it very clear that after that time we could not process any further transfers, at which time you would lose any reimbursement from the convention for unused memberships unless you sold your membership yourself. Anybody who failed to show up for the event and who did not contact us before March 9 basically took away a membership which we could have sold to someone on the waiting list. Because of the size of the convention publications and delegate bags, we are also not mailing them to anybody who did not attend. We will make a final decision on any further refunds in due course.
