Edo von Belkom

Edo Van Belkom

Born in Toronto in 1962, Edo graduated from York University with an honors degree in Creative Writing. As a teacher, he has taught short story writing for the Peel Board of Education, been an instructor at Sheridan College, and has lectured on horror and fantasy writing at the University of Toronto and Ryerson Polytechnic University. He has appeared on countless television and radio shows, and was the first movie host on SCREAM, Canada’s all-horror television channel. A frequent guest speaker and panellist, Edo was Toastmaster of the 1997 World Horror Convention in Niagara Falls, New York, and co-host of the 2001 Bram Stoker Awards ceremony in Seattle, Washington.

A multiple award-winning author and editor of over 30 books and more than 200 short stories of horror, science fiction, fantasy and mystery, his most recent accolade is the 2006 Silver Birch Award for the young adult novel WOLF PACK, his series for young adults includes WOLF PACK, LONE WOLF, CRY WOLF and WOLF MAN. In addition, Edo won the 1997 Bram Stoker Award from the Horror Writers Association for the story “Rat Food” (co-authored with David Nickle). As an editor, he has five anthologies to his credit,.
